Jones - Meason double reeds

One of the few commercial oboe reeds available with the long scrape used by nearly all professionals. Finest French cane is sorted, selected, and processed by skilled craftsmen, then the reeds are created using the world's most advanced reed machinery. Each reed is individually tested and adjusted by hand. Nearly every reed receives some hand scraping before final inspection and packaging.
Finest commercial bassoon reed available. Each piece of cane is selected for exact caliber and wall thickness. Following a number of mechanized steps, the reeds are assembled by hand and the string is coated with the strongest lacquer known. The reeds are then tested and hand scraped as necessary before packaging.
Jones Double Reed Products manufactures Meason reeds using French cane of the same quality as in the Jones reeds. Each reed receives a great deal of individual attention and detailed work and is thoroughly tested. The packaging used for Meason reeds protects the reeds better than any other container available.
The Meason bassoon reed is a particularly resonant reed. Following assembly, the reeds are tested for pitch, response and strength. JDRP uses the same raw materials that are used in the Jones reeds.
